Taking the Time to Experiment
Do you ever feel like you use the same colors, patterns and elements over and over in your work and feel stuck and uninspired? I’ve been in that funk lately!!
So often I’m working on a page and I have “x” amount of time to work on it and rather than taking the time to try something new OR trying something new on the page I’m actively working on and risk messing it up 😱 …I just stick to the tried and true, the same ol’, same ol’ but it gets a little old after a while… can you relate?
That’s why I took the time to create this template and I want to share it with you!
I needed something simple and cute that I could not only practice on but save for later when I need some inspiration.
I wanted to get more experience and try different types of cheetah print, so through a quick Google and Pinterest search I had some ideas. I played around with different colors, some of which I rarely use but the turnout was great! I also tried different types of cheetah spots to create a variety. What do you think?
Next was Plaid– again I tried some different colors and patterns I hadn’t tried before. I also have a couple of colored pencil sets so I added some detailing to give it a little pop. ✨
Finally, I gave some different wallpaper designs a try. Friends in the lovely coloring community on TikTok asked if I had some wallpaper ideas and their wish was my command 😀 I too have a hard time figuring out what to do on the walls of coloring pages so this was really needed for myself as well!
I hope these give you a little inspiration but more so, I hope you will grab this template and try it yourself— taking the time to try something new is not only fun but worth the time!!
I’d love to see what you create, tag me on TikTok and share with others so we can continue to grow this lovely, coloring community ❤️
